Castrol Rustilo 612 Is
a Neat corrosion preventive oil.
Description -
Castrol Rustilo™
612 (previously called SafeCoat™ 612) is a general purpose short term inhibited
protective oil ideal for use where solvent based products are unacceptable.
Castrol Rustilo 612
(formerly called SafeCoat 612) is a low-viscosity corrosion protection oil for
applications where solvent-based products are not suitable or in which volatile
organic compounds (VOCs) are not desired. Rustilo 612 is designed for corrosion
protection applications where solventborne products are not an option . The
product is particularly recommended for use as corrosion protection oil in cold
rolling mills and rod and wire drawing shops. Rustilo 612 is due to its good
thermoforming propertiesbut also excellent for the protection of cold rolled
body panels and can also be used for light forming work. Rustilo 612 can also
be used as a test medium for hydraulic systems as well as leak tests of
gearboxes, pumps and vessels. Rustilo 612 can be applied by dipping, brushing
or spraying.

Additional
Information –
The claims on film thickness and consumption are
average values. These are valid for smooth surfaces with good drain-off
characteristics and simple geometries without holes or recesses.
·
"Indoor storage” describes the storage of
ferrous components in closed store-rooms having a relative humidity of 60%.
Increased protection times could be achieved when treating finished surfaces or
store the parts in a sealed pack.
·
"Outdoor storage” describes open storage,
which assumes primary protection from the elements by tarpaulin or other form
of cover.
Influence of temperature may cause some cloudiness,
which is reversible and doesn’t have an impact on product quality.
Storage
-
To avoid product deterioration always keep the
container/drum tightly sealed. Store the product in a cool, dry place away from
direct sunlight. Prevent exposure to frost and avoid water ingress. For optimum
product stability, it is preferable to store the product indoors between 5°C
and 45 °C / 41°F and 113°F.
