Beschreibung  -


Die ASTM-Standard-Testmethode D 471-06 befasst sich mit dem Einfluss von Flüssigkeiten auf Elastomere (“Rubber Property – Effect of Liquids”). Neben den Beschreibungen zur Durchführung diverser Elastomerprüfungen werden Referenzflüssigkeiten (Standard Test Liquids) genannt, um Vergleichsmessungen zu ermöglichen. Die ASTM D 471-06 unterteilt hierbei die Referenzflüssigkeiten in drei Gruppen:


• IRM-Referenzöle
• ASTM-Referenz-Kraftstoffe
• ASTM-Service-Flüssigkeiten


IRM-Referenzöle  -


Die unter IRM genannten Referenzöle FUCHS IRM 901, IRM 902 und IRM 903 sind Mineralöle mit unterschiedlichem Paraffin- und Aromatengehalt. Grundsätzlich gilt, dass mit zunehmendem Aromatengehalt der Einfluss auf Elastomere wächst (Quellverhalten). IRM 901 weist den niedrigsten Aromatengehalt, IRM 903 den höchsten Aromatengehalt auf. Als Indikator für den Aromatengehalt wird allgemein der Anilinpunkt angesehen. Der Anilinpunkt ist die Temperatur in °C, bei der sich eine durch Erwärmung homogene Lösung mit gleichen Raumteilen Öl und Anilin beim Abkühlen durch Entmischung trübt. Je niedriger der Anilinpunkt liegt, desto höher ist der Aromatengehalt und damit das Quellverhalten des jeweiligen Mineralöls. Die früher verwendeten ASTM-Öle Nr. 2 und 3 wurden wegen des Verdachts auf karzinogene Wirkung 1994 durch die Öle IRM 902 und IRM 903 ersetzt. Das ASTM-Öl Nr. 1 wurde aufgrund der nicht mehr gegebenen kommerziellen Verfügbarkeit 2006 durch das Öl IRM 901 ersetzt. Diese Öle sind in ihrem Verhalten gegenüber Elastomeren sehr ähnlich, aber nicht identisch den ASTM-Ölen Nr. 1, 2 und 3.


Die FUCHS SCHMIERSTOFFE GMBH halten ständig die Referenzöle IRM 901, IRM 902 und IRM 903 zur Verfügung. Es handelt sich bei den Referenzölen um importierte Originalöle. Somit ist sichergestellt, dass die hiermit ermittelten Test-ergebnisse weltweit vergleichbar sind.
