TOTAL GLACELF CLASSIC is Antifreeze Based


Description  -


Frost protection depends on the ratio of the volumes of GLACELF CLASSIC and water. All antifreeze and monoethylene glycol based coolants are special industrial waste and must be disposed of at authorized locations. In gasoline or diesel engines from 30 to 40% of the heat produced during combustion is not converted into a driving force and must be dissipated. The engine cooling system must be adapted to remove this excess with regard to wiping the walls of the cooling system. The liquid cools the various parts of the engine, transferring heat and then leaving it in the radiator. If the excess heat is not removed, then just a few minutes of the engine operation without a cooler are enough to cause jamming of the piston rings and cracks in the cylinder head. GLACELF CLASSIC successfully passes the corrosion tests required by the standards: a plate test by heat and a test of glass products for chemical destruction.Additives in antifreeze GLACELF CLASSIC inform the coolant: reserve of alkaline properties (to neutralize the products of combustion),reducing foaming (mainly reducing the stability of a possible foam), and chemical neutrality (pH 7 - 8.5). The cooling fluid obtained by diluting the GLACELF CLASSIC antifreeze is compatible with elastomeric seal parts and paints on prolonged contact.


For year-round use in water-cooled internal combustion engines in cars, trucks, construction and agricultural machinery.Provides effective protection against freezing or overheating of the engine.The minimum recommended concentration of GLACELF CLASSIC is 33 Vol.%.For year-round protection of the cooling system from corrosion require a concentration of 50 vol.% Is recommended.Please never more than 70 vol.% Use Radiator protection concentrate.Total GLACELF CLASSIC mix with distilled or deionized water.

·         GLACELF CLASSIC is an antifreeze based on monoethylene glycol and selected inhibitors, and contains no amines, nitrites or phosphates.
·         GLACELF CLASSIC antifreeze, when mixed with an appropriate quantity of water, becomes a coolant fluid recommended for all cooling circuits in internal combustion engines.
·         In accordance with French Decree No. 95-326 of 20 th March 1995 concerning the distribution of certain substances containing monoethylene glycol, GLACELF CLASSIC contains a bittering agent to give it a bitter taste as a guarantee against accidental ingestion by children or users.

Applications  -


GLACELF CLASSIC is used diluted in demineralised water (< 8F) and forms a permanent cooling fluid that can be used throughout the year. To obtain a coolant perfectly mixed, it is recommended to mix mechanically the antifreeze with the water. The protection against freezing depends upon the proportion of GLACELF CLASSIC in the water.

The additives in GLACELF CLASSIC give the coolant fluid:


– A reserve of alkalinity (to neutralise the acids resulting from the combustion gases).
– A resistance to foaming (mainly instability of the foam that might form).
– A chemical neutrality (PH 7-8.5)
The coolant fluids obtained by diluting GLACELF CLASSIC are also inert to elastomeric seals and paints.
